New Business Offers “A Better Solution” to Good Health

At the core of A Better Solution Wellness Clinic’s approach is the awareness that different people may have different definitions for the concept of wellness. At the business’ heart is a selection of services designed to help clients achieve and maintain a feeling of good health.

Located in Marco Town Center, the shop offers a variety of IV nutrition and aesthetic therapies and Ketamine therapy to help people reach their wellness goals. All are administered by the clinic’s owner, Michele McGuire, who is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, and a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice, the highest degree in nurse anesthesia.

The offerings cover a broad range, including one that would surely be welcome should someone happen to over-imbibe: the Hangover Remedy IV Infusion. The treatment provides hydration, vitamins and minerals, and anti-nausea medication.

“Everybody has a different idea of what wellness is to them, and that’s what we’re about,” said McGuire. “If that’s (the hangover remedy) what you’re seeking, we can help you with that. If you’re looking for something to boost your immune system, we can help you with that. We can help people with allergies. We have the Ketamine for people who are struggling mental health-wise (a referral from a mental health provider is required). There are just many things available to people, no that we haven’t had before.”

A Better Solution Wellness Clinic held its grand opening in April. McGuire of Marco said businesses such as hers are gaining popularity nationally and in Southwest Florida as many people seek out alternative forms of treatment. “There isn’t anything specifically like us here on Marco,” she added. “We’re the first real dedicated to IV therapy and esthetics.”

IV nutrition therapy features an assortment of various vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and nutrients. Aside from the hangover remedy, the treatments include:

Athlete’s Friend: A blend of amino acids, minerals, and vitamins C and B, which helps with muscle recovery, and sodium chloride solution to assist with hydration. Amino acids promote energy production and wound healing.

Headache: Migraines and headaches can be triggered by dehydration, lack of sleep, environmental and emotional stressors, and other physical causes. This infusion blend of calcium, magnesium and B vitamins can help reduce the symptoms.

Hydration: This solution will rehydrate the body. Sodium chloride solution and ascorbic acid, B vitamins, and minerals will help restore what has been lost.

Immune Support: This blend of vitamins C and B and zinc boosts the immune system and enhances mental clarity, metabolism, and energy levels.

Myers’ Cocktail: A combination of magnesium, calcium, B vitamins, and vitamin C helps maintain muscle and nerve function, regulate heart rhythms, and boost immunity. It is frequently used for allergies, asthma, athletic performance, chronic sinusitis, fatigue, fibromyalgia, migraines, etc.

NAD+: NAD, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a catalyst for many functions, including igniting mitochondria (the powerhouses of the cells). NAD decreases with age, and low levels have been linked to many diseases.

NAD+ therapy boosts metabolism and energy, slows aging, helps repair damaged cells, and reduces inflammation. It can also provide some relief from chronic diseases.

Aesthetics treatments include:

Neurotoxins: Treats and prevents the facial fine lines and wrinkles associated with aging.

Dermal fillers: Can help soften fine lines, wrinkles, and creases, as well as dark circles under the eyes and lips and restore volume and tone to the skin. A dermal filler can be used to maintain facial skin’s volume and fullness.

PRP facial: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) uses the body’s own components to improve the skin’s appearance. Injections are performed using a purified sample of a client’s blood. Treatments can also be used for facelifts, hair restoration, and the neck and décolletage.

Chemical peel: Removes dead, damaged skin cells from your skin. As a result, the outer layers of your skin peel off. Your complexion may become softer and clearer during the healing and rejuvenation process.

Ketamine treatment for anxiety, depression, and PTSD requires a referral from a qualified mental health provider. Once a referral is made, an assessment is made regarding whether Ketamine is right for a client, based on their health history and a physical.

“I have clients that come in, and they’re just trying to maintain; maybe they just want the B-12 injections for energy, maybe they just want to get their allergies under control, so we do some immune system things. It’s very individual, based on what’s going to work for them,” said McGuire. “We all know what works for us because we know when we feel better, so we, ultimately, are the best indicators of our own wellness.”

Angie Corle of Marco discovered A Better Solution while searching for a local provider of vitamin infusions.

“I came across Michele on her website, and I go as often as I can,” she said. “I would definitely recommend it because vitamins and nutrients aren’t always absorbed through our food as well as they are intravenous. The spa is clean and professional, and I definitely highly recommend her. I’m looking forward to her aesthetic services, as well.”
